Course Details

  • Level: Advanced
  • Recommended Background: Attendees should have completed one or more of the following CJDS courses:
    • Leveraging Call Detail Records for Criminal Investigations
    • Power BI Basics for Law Enforcement Agencies
    • Using Data to Solve Crime Within Criminal Investigations
    • Crime Analysis Fundamentals Using Data Driven Modalities
    • Or have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Power BI Desktop and Windows computers.
  • Prerequisites: Must have Microsoft Power BI Desktop installed prior to the first day of class.
  • Technology Requirements: Students must bring a Windows laptop (personal or employer-issued). Host agency does not provide devices.
  • Additional Requirements: A Power BI Pro, G5, or E5 license assigned by the agency is required for access to the Power BI Cloud Service. Students must bring the required course textbook (see below) at their own expense.
  • Duration: 32 Hours (4 Days)
  • Method: In Person
  • Restrictions: Open only to criminal justice employees in Full or Light Duty status.
  • Disclosures: None
  • Fee: Course is free, but students are responsible for material costs.
  • Cancellation Policy: If fewer than 50% of seats are filled 72 hours before the course start date, the instructor may cancel the course.
